Maths curriculum at Park Lane

Our maths curriculum aims to nurture a love for maths; a confidence in number fluency; as well as the ability to develop skills to problem solve and reason through a mastery approach. We are committed to ensuring that children are able to recognise the importance of maths in the wider world and that they are also able to use their mathematical skills and knowledge confidently in their lives in a range of different contexts.

How do we teach maths at Park Lane?

Foundation Stage, KS1 and KS2 use White Rose Maths to sequence their planning and learning. White Rose Maths is an organisation that provides schemes of learning for Maths which underpins the methodology of how we teach. The learning is mapped out onto a yearly overview that breaks down learning for clear progression and to support children in mastering objectives from the National Curriculum.

The schemes of learning for each year group can be found on ‘WRM’ tabs in the Maths drop down menu for further information.
